Personal Statement

I believe in treating my patients like family and feel a personal responsibility towards their health. Since 1978, I have enjoyed getting to know them and the luxury of spending as much time as necessary to help provide an understanding of exactly what is going on with their bodies. I want to empower my patients to make intelligent, informed decisions about their treatment. My medical expertise and down-to-earth explanations encourage patients and their families to take an active role in their recovery. Urology is not my only focus because everything a patient does impacts their health for better or for worse; therefore I coach them to make the best possible choices and to take responsibility for their health.

I think you’ll notice our office and procedures are different from most. For example, ‘phone trees’ drive me nuts and I refuse to use them even though they are more efficient. When you call, you will talk to a real person, right away. Upon your visit, first you will go to my office to talk about your problem, then the exam room and then back to my office again to discuss your treatment plan. Once again, this is more time consuming than putting you in a treatment room immediately but I find this approach less stressful for my patients and allows them to remember all they came to tell me. I am on-call 24 hours a day during the week and share call during the weekends with other Urologists that I respect and trust.

My medical practice has been a blessing and one shared with my wife, Linda, who has helped me through the years with her nursing and administrative skills. It started as a family affair and remains one with a warm, caring staff, a relaxing office environment, up-to-date equipment and terrific patients that make my day!
